Veteran actor Dr. Shreeram Lagoo passed away late last evening (17th December) in Pune due to age-related problems. He was 92 years old and is survived by his wife.
Shreeram Lagoo worked in a number of Hindi and Marathi films as also in Marathi stage-plays. He had directed around 20 Marathi stage-plays. He was a qualified ENT surgeon. Among the Hindi films he had worked in were Ek Din Achanak, Gharaonda and Laawaris. His Marathi films include Sinhasan, Samna, Pinjra, Zaakol, Khichadi, Mukta and Masala. He also wrote his autobiography, titled Laaman. Among the stage-plays he was associated with were Natsamrat and Himalayachi Saoli.
