The Enforcement Directorate recently searched the premises of an event management company at Malad in Bombay. It was hired by an online gaming-betting company to arrange for a success party on September 18 in Dubai by inviting leading Bollywood celebrities.
The gaming company is alleged to have spent Rs. 40 crore for arranging the celebrities and other related work. The money is said to have come from “proceeds of crime”. The ED may inquire about the money paid to celebrities.
Before this, the ED recently searched the premises of Mahadev Book, the online gaming app company, and several influential people in Chhattisgarh, which led to arrests of four persons including an assistant police sub-inspector in the case.
