ED SUMMONS ACTRESS-MP NUSRAT JAHAN FOR QUESTIONING | 6 September, 2023

The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Trinamool Congress MP and actress Nusrat Jahan on September 12 for questioning in a case related to swindling people in the name of apartment sale. The actress-MP, who was in her constituency, Basirhat, on September 5, told reporters that she would depose before the agency and cooperate with the probe.

Nusrat was earlier a director of 7 Sense Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd., which is accused of taking Rs. 5.50 lakh each from 429 people, promising them flats at Rajarhat in North 24 Parganas district. It is alleged that Nusrat was a director in the real estate company when the money was collected, and resigned from the post later.

The prospective home buyers had moved court, alleging that the company did not deliver the promised flats after collecting a total of Rs. 25 crore. The court last month directed the police to act on the complaint.
