Released last week in Assam, Divine Cine Production’s Ek Ank is about the drying up of rivers. It talks about the unmindfulness of people of the fact that if the rivers dry up, the earth is doomed.
Prabhat Kumar has written a dry and drab story and screenplay, which hardly entertain. They are thought-provoking but fail to engage the viewers. Prabhat Kumar’s dialogues are ordinary.
Yajuvendra Singh is no hero material. His acting is average. Preeti Shukla is so-so. Rajesh Jais lends fair support. Omkar Das Manikpuri and Ranjana Singh are routine. Others are barely passable.
Prabhat Kumar’s direction is dull. Music (Puneet Avasthi and Nitesh Shrivastava) is nothing to shout about. Kiran Giri’s choreography is functional. Nishant Saha’s camerawork is up to the mark. Prodip Paul’s editing is loose.
On the whole, Ek Ank is a dull fare.
