‘EK BETUKE AADMI KI AFRAH RAATEIN’ REVIEW | 29 September, 2023

Released last week in Bombay circuit (in Pune and Surat), Barking Dog Films and Zaira Entertainment’s Ek Betuke Aadmi Ki Afrah Raatein (A) is set in 2013 in the towns of Muzaffarnagar and Lucknow. The film connects three different stories to present the lives and times of its four characters. It talks of love, lust, guilt and redemption.

Sharad Raj’s script is very weak. It moves at an excruciatingly slow pace.

Adil Hussain, Archana Gupta, Mia Maelzer and Rajveer Verma play the four lead characters well.

Sharad Raj’s direction tests the audience’s patience. Pelva Naik’s music and Sanjukta Wagh’s choreography are functional.  Arun Varma does an ordinary job of the camerawork. Mia Maelzer’s art direction is so-so. Editing (Biren Mohanty) is loose.

On the whole, Ek Betuke Aadmi Ki Afrah Raatein is a poor show all the way.
