Famous yesteryears’ film director Esmayeel Shroff passed away today (26th October) in Bombay at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. The exact reason for his death is not known. He was 82 years old.
Shroff had learnt sound engineering but became an assistant director, and then a director with Thodisi Bewafaii. Among the films he had directed were Bulundi, Suryaa, Ahista Ahista, Dil… Akhir Dil Hai, Jhutha Sach, Love 86, Zid, Nishchaiy, God And Gun, Police Public, Majhdhaar, Tarkieb and Agar. In the active years of his career from 1977 to 2004, he made films with such stars as Rajesh Khanna, Raaj Kumar and Salman Khan. His last film was Thoda Tum Badlo Thoda Hum (2004).
