A sessions court at Tumakuru in Karnataka asked the police on 12th October to lodge an FIR against Kangana Ranaut for her tweet pertaining to farmers opposing the agri-marketing bill. The FIR, lodged at Kyathasandra police station, booked her under IPC sections 153 (wantonly giving provocation with intent to cause riot), 153A (wantonly vilification or attacks upon religion, race or place or persons) and 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of peace).
The court had on October 9 allowed the application filed by advocate Ramesh Naik L. at Tumakuru. The matter has been scheduled for hearing on November 6. Kangana’s tweet reads: “People who spread misinformation and rumours about CAA… that caused riots are the same people who are now spreading misinformation about the farmers’ bills… They are terrorists…”
