Film director Aashiq Abu on August 30 resigned from the Film Employees Federation of Kerala (FEFKA) Directors Union following irreconcilable differences with its leaders over Justice Hema Committee report on sexual improprieties in the Malayalam film industry. He said, he strongly disagreed with the FEFKA leadership and wanted to protest against its leaders’ “hypocritical stance” in the matter of sexual misconduct of some celebrities. “Criminal silence of this organisation (FEFKA) has disappointed me,” Abu lamented.
