The Mumbra police recently arrested Marathi filmmaker F.M. Ilyas for demanding and accepting money from a ration shop owner based in Tanwar Nagar Complex in Thane. Ilyas allegedly threatened to file false complaints and revoke his licence if the shop owner did not pay up.
The owner of the ration shop complained to the Mumbra police on 15th July when Ilyas called him up to extort money. The owner set up a spycam set which caught Ilyas accepting Rs. 20,000 from him.
