Some excited and reckless members of the audience watching Tiger 3 at Mohan Cinema, Malegaon, on 12th November in the night show, burst firecrackers inside the auditorium, sparking a near-stampede as people jumped off their seats and rushed to the exits. Rockets and other firecrackers were lit, but luckily, nothing caught fire and nobody was injured. The film screening, which had to be halted, was resumed after the doors were opened to let out the smoke.
Cinema owner Rakesh Pandey lodged a police complaint against the unidentified offenders, based on which an FIR was registered under sections 285 (endangering lives with explosives) and 336 (the act of endangering life or personal safety of others) of the IPC.
