The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, notorious, among other things, for threatening Salman Khan, has claimed responsibility for allegedly firing shots outside the residence of popular Punjabi singer A.P. Dhillon in Vancouver (Canada) on the night of September 1.
Multiple gun shots were fired outside Dhillon’s house, it is reported. A video depicts a man firing with an automatic pistol outside the singer’s Victoria Island house in British Columbia at night. In a social media post, Bishnoi’s right-hand man, gangster Rohit Godara, wrote: “Greetings to all brothers. On the night of September 1, we executed shootings at two locations in Canada — Victoria Island and Woodbridge, Toronto. I, Rohit Godara (Lawrence Bishnoi Group), claim responsibility for this act. The house on Victoria Island belongs to A.P. Dhillon. Salman Khan is featured in your songs, and you flaunt your actions. The underworld life you emulate is the life we live. Stay in your place, or you will meet a dog’s death.”
The incident comes in the wake of Dhillon’s latest music video release, ‘Old Money’, which features Salman Khan. The intelligence agencies are probing if this was the trigger for the shooting. The Canada incident bears a striking resemblance to the shooting that had taken place outside Salman Khan’s Bombay residence on April 14 this year. The investigation into that shooting had revealed connections to the Bishnoi gang, prompting the Bombay police to invoke the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) against all the individuals involved.
