‘HAMARE BAARAH’: OBJECTIONABLE DIALOGUES TO BE CUT | 8 June, 2024

Producers of Hamare Baarah agreed to delete the objectionable dialogues from their film and exhibit the edited version. The film, which was earlier slated for release on June 7, will now hit the screens on June 14. The producers had earlier prayed for releasing the film on June 7 (yesterday) from the 10 a.m. show. After that, they agreed to release the film on June 8 (today). However, they will finally bring the film to the cinemas next Friday.

Justice Kamal Khata and Justice Rajesh Patil allowed the producers to delete the dialogues so that the film’s release was not stalled, after a panel, appointed for the purpose, sought time till June 12 to take a final decision on a petition that the film portrayed the Muslim community in poor light.

It may be recalled here that on June 6, the Bombay high court had recalled its earlier stay on the film’s release after the producers said that the stay would cause them financial loss as all release arrangements had been made.

The judges asked the Central Board Film Certification to set up a three-member panel, including a Muslim, to view the film and inform on June 7 at 9 a.m. They said, the panel had “failed to carry out instructions it undertook to do”.
