Oscar-winning Hollywood actor Gene Hackman, his wife, Betsy Arakawa, and their dog were found dead in their New Mexico home on February 26. He was 95 years old while his wife was 64. Betsy was his second wife. He had three kids from a previous marriage, but no kids from the present one.
Foul play was not suspected although it is not known how they died. Since the bodies were decomposed, it is believed that the deaths took place around February 17.
Gene Hackman played hero, anti-hero and villain in a number of films, all with elan. He was a prolific actor who worked from the 1960s to the early 2000s when he retired. He was a five-time Oscar nominee and won the Oscar for The French Connection (1971) and Unforgiven (1992). Among his other well-known films are Bonnie And Clyde, The Poseidon Adventure, Mississippi Burning, Superman, Hoosiers and The Royal Tenenbaums. He had acted in around 80 films. He also did television and stage plays.
