A 30-year-old domestic help employed at the residence of Salman Khan’s sister, Arpita Khan Sharma, stole her diamond-studded earrings worth Rs. 5 lakh and was soon arrested. The police were called to Arpita’s flat on 17th Road at Khar in Bombay on the night of 16th May, a day after she realised that the earrings were missing.
Soon after the FIR was registered, the police arrested the help, Sandeep Hegde, and recovered the earrings. Before that, the cops interrogated all the 11 house helps who were present in the flat. Hegde confessed to the crime.
This was the second theft that occurred at Arpita’s flat. In August 2016, the Khar police had arrested a domestic help, Afsa Khan, for stealing cash and gold worth Rs. 3.25 lakh from Arpita’s flat while she and her actor-husband, Aayush Sharma, were out on a holiday.
