The 53rd edition of the International Film Festival of India (IFFI), which will be held from November 20 to 28 in Goa, will pay homage to 17 Indian film celebrities for their contribution to cinema, by screening their films.
Abhimaan has been selected to pay tribute to Lata Mangeshkar while Mausam has been chosen to honour Bhupinder Singh. Dedh Ishqiya will be screened in the memory of Pt. Birju Maharaj. Disco Dancer (Bappi Lahiri), Bhool Bhulaiyaa (singer KK), Saraswatichandra (Ramesh Deo), Anhonee (Ravi Tandon), Thiruda Thiruda (Salim Ghouse), Souten (Saawan Kumar Tak), Nimantran (Tarun Majumdar), Pinjara (Vatsala Deshmukh), Jeevana Tarangalu (T. Rama Rao and Krishnam Raju), Lamhe (Pt. Shiv Kumar Sharma), Rithubedham (Prathap Pothen) and Parinda (Shiv Subramaniam) are some of the other films to be screened at the IFFI. The family members of these film personalities have been invited to be a part of the event.
