District and additional sessions judge of Vasai court, R.D. Deshpande, on February 27 held in-camera proceedings in the bail hearing of actor Sheezan Khan, accused of abetment to suicide of his co-star and former girlfriend, Tunisha Sharma, in December last year. Sheezan, who is lodged in Thane jail, filed a bail application on February 20 after the Valiv police submitted its chargesheet in court on February 16.
Khan’s lawyer told the court that his client was being denied bail as he belonged to a minority community. He added that the police had no proof to show that Sheezan had harassed and led Tunisha to take the extreme step.
