The income-tax department has searched actress Shilpa Shetty’s office which runs a restaurant in Bombay, as part of searches conducted on office premises of multiple food and beverages companies in the city, on charges of tax evasion.
Around 20-24 premises were raided since December 17 after the department got actionable inputs against certain companies in this sector, which are alleged to have been undertaking cash transactions.
