IT’S OFFICIAL: ‘PUSHPA 2’ POSTPONED TO DECEMBER | 17 June, 2024

It’s official now! Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2 The Rule will not release on 15th August. The film has been postponed and its new release date is 6th December.

Rumours of the postponement had been doing the rounds of trade circles following which at least four films had announced their release on Independence Day. The first film, which was slated for release on the national holiday, was Zee’s Vedaa. When the announcement of Vedaa was made, the trade assumed that it would clash with the Pushpa sequel on Independence Day. Then came the announcement that Khel Khel Mein would also hit the screens on 15th August. That’s when people in the trade started whispering that the Allu Arjun starrer would not make it on the scheduled date. A couple of days later, there was news that Stree 2 would come on the coveted national holiday instead of releasing in September. And just yesterday, the producers of Double Ismart, starring Ram Pothineni and Sanjay Dutt, declared that their film would also see release on Independence Day.

Since there was no news from the producers of Pushpa 2 about the postponement till yesterday, people wondered how so many producers would come in direct opposition of one of the most eagerly awaited films of this year. The intrigue was even more killing because the release of multi-star cast Singham Again had been postponed months ago, because of Pushpa 2.

It was only today (17th June) that an official announcement of the postponement was made by the producers of Pushpa 2. Since the sequel’s shooting still remains to be done, the film will come on 6th December instead of 15th August.
