‘JAIDEVAA’ REVIEW | 6 January, 2023

Veer’s Entertainment, S. Bala Group and Rajveer Malhotra Production’s Jaidevaa (UA) is the story of a young man who saves his village from an evil builder.

Devaa (Raajveer Malhotra) is the son of village leader Shivajirao (Raza Murad). He rises to the occasion when builder Rana (Shahbaz Khan) wishes to buy the village land although the elders of the village are not in favour of the sale.

Raajveer Malhotra has written a story and screenplay, which are both devoid of excitement or thrill. The drama moves on the predictable path and, therefore, simply fails to arrest the audience’s attention. Neither do the highs of the drama give the viewers a kick nor do the lows affect them in any way. Even Raajveer Malhotra’s dialogues are just about passable.

Raajveer Malhotra seems to have made the film only to see himself as an actor on the screen. He is no hero material and he fails to impress as Devaa. Parijat Chakraborty is ordinary. Raza Murad lends fair support as Devaa’s father, Shivajirao. Shahbaz Khan is average as builder Rana. Deepak Shirke is alright as Jayawant. Others pass muster.

Raajveer Malhotra’s direction is as weak as his script. Music (Raj Sen, Dheeraj Sen and Ashim Roy) is weak. Lyrics are below the mark. Camerawork (Gopal Rao, R. Raghvendra and Sukhvindar Kumar) is not up to the mark. Even the action and stunt scenes (choreographed by Jiya Yadav and Rakesh Patil) lack the fire. Vijaykumar Mali’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.

On the whole, Jaidevaa is a flop show all the way.

Released on 6-1-’23 at Gem (daily 1 show; show cancelled today due to lack of audience) and one more cinema of Bombay thru Zeus Films India. Publicity & opening: poor. …….Also released all over.
