JATIN RAJGURU DIES OF CANCER | 26 August, 2020

Star secretary Jatin Rajguru passed away this morning (26th August) due to cancer. He was in his early sixties and is survived by his wife and a son, daughter-in-law and grand-daughter. His son, Ruchit, is a well-known still photographer in the film industry. He is currently working on Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha. Jatin will be cremated today.

Jatin used to be the secretary of Sunny Deol for a long time. He had also managed the dates of Karisma Kapoor, Tabu, Divya Bharti, Kareena Kapoor, Sunil Shetty, Aishwarya Rai, John Abraham, Bipasha Basu, Aftab Shivdasani, Ameesha Patel, Avinash Wadhawan, Dino Morea and a host of other actors. Many years ago, he had started a secretarial agency in partnership with Bhasker Shetty. Later, Bhasker passed away. For a few years after quitting secretaryship, Jatin used to handle the affairs of Kamal Amrohi Studios. He was also the associate producer of Urmila Matondkar starrer Khoobsurat. As a secretary, Jatin was humble and easily approachable despite handling the business affairs of top stars of their time.

There was a time when Jatin wielded so much clout and power in the industry that film proposals were made in his office simply because he used to handle the dates of so many leading stars. It used to not be rare to see producers and filmmakers like Sajid Nadiadwala and Rajiv Rai visit his office and spend hours together there. He obliged many small-time actors and helped them grow in their careers.
