Javed Akhtar will be given the Dostoevsky’s Star Award for his outstanding achievements and contribution in film script, lyrics and literary works. The Russian award will be presented in Kemerovo and Moscow.
The letter informing Akhtar about the award mentions: “Your works are well appreciated by millions of people in Russia and other countries of the world. They have made a huge contribution to the cultural exchange between our people, learning the national traditions and the fabulous world of India.”
It may be mentioned here that Javed Akhtar will be the first Indian writer to be honoured with this prestigious award.
