AR Minds’ Jiddari (Marathi; UA) is the story of a young man who returns to his village after completing his education in the city. He decides to help the farmers of his village. Along the way, the young man falls in love with a girl. But the love story faces a roadblock in the form of opposition from the families of the boy and girl. Then, one day, the boy is killed in an accident? Is it an accident or a premeditated murder?
The story and screenplay are not interesting as family opposition has been witnessed in umpteen love stories. The drama, therefore, fails to engage the viewers. Dialogues (by Ram Kadam and Nikhil Kamal) are so-so.
Shubham Tare is alright. Vidula Baviskar does a fair job. Ravindra B. Solanke, Vijay Anjan, Ravindra Dhage, Sudhir Male, Rajshree Sharad Patade and Shilpa Santosh Sonawane lend routine support.
Amol Shinde Hoalkar’s direction is dull. Music (Dev Chouhan and Suchir Kulkarni) is okay. Lyrics (Suhas Munde and Nikhil Rajvardhan) are alright. Background music (by Atul Joshi, Siddhesh Kulkarni, Nihar Rajhans and Amit Patil) is functional. Camerawork is fair. Editing (Amol Nimbalkar and Pooja Patil) leaves something to be desired.
On the whole, Jiddari is a poor show.
Released on 18-2-’22 at Movie Time Goregaon (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Sunshine Studios. Publicity & opening: poor.
