‘JUGJUGG JEEYO’: SOME TRAILERS SAY IT ALL! | 22 May, 2022

Karan Johar and Raj Mehta gave the industry Good Newwz in December 2019. In their second outing together, they bring great news! Yes, the trailer of their Jugjugg Jeeyo, released a little while back today (22nd May) at PVR Juhu in Bombay, has hit written all over it.

If Good Newwz was about a mix-up of the sperms and eggs of two married couples going in for IVF treatment, Jugjugg Jeeyo is also about two couples going through the same emotions. Both the married couples in this film are contemplating divorce. So what, you are apt to ask. But you will be shocked when you learn that the couples are related. While one couple is the freshly married Varun Dhawan and Kiara Advani, the second couple are the parents of Varun Dhawan, played by Anil Kapoor and Neetu Singh.

As the trailer loudly and clearly suggests, the film is going to be a laugh riot. And as the trailer only subtly suggests, it is also going to make the audience cry copiously.

Producing the film jointly with Johar’s Dharma Productions is Viacom18 Studios.

If a trailer is a peek into the film, let it be said that:
(i) Jugjugg Jeeyo will be one helluva masala entertainer;
(ii) Neetu Singh will win terrific acclaim for her performance;
(iii) Anil Kapoor will prove once again that given a solid role, he is absolutely unbeatable;
(iv) Varun Dhawan will deliver his biggest hit so far with Dharma Productions this time;
(v) Kiara Advani will continue her hit parade with Dharma Productions, which started with Good Newwz and continued with Shershaah;
(vi) Raj Mehta will likely deliver a bigger hit in Jugjugg Jeeyo than his maiden film;
(vii) The Naach Punjaban song from the film will become a hit in the days to come and could become a favourite for weddings;
(viii) If the funny dialogues (Rishabh Sharma) will make the audience laugh, the intense ones (like Rishta tootne ki koi ek wajah nahin hoti, bahut see adhuri ladaaiyon ki thakaan hoti hai, bas) will win the audience’s love and admiration;
(ix) The story (by Anurag Singh) and the screenplay (Anurag Singh, Sumit Batheja, Rishabh Sharma and Neeraj Udhwani) will come in for plenty of praise.

Exhibitors, mark your calendars for 24th June, 2022 because that’s when the hit film will arrive.

P.S.: The catchline of the film about two impending divorces is: ‘A Family Reunion, Full Of Surprises’! Indeed!!
