‘JURASSIC WORLD: REBIRTH’ (DUBBED) REVIEW | 4 July, 2025

Amblin Entertainment and The Kennedy/Marshall Company’s Jurassic World: Rebirth (dubbed from the Hollywood film of the same name; UA) is yet another film in the Jurassic franchise.

Seventeen years after the laboratory set up by InGen on Ile Saint-Hubert in the Atlantic Ocean is abandoned because a six-limbed tyrannosaur escaped containment, Earth’s environment has remained inhospitable to the remaining population of dinosaurs and other de-extinct prehistoric animals. The surviving creatures now reside in remote, tropical locations. Martin Krebs (Rupert Friend) from a pharmaceutical company recruits Zora Bennett (Scarlett Johansson) to collaborate with paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis (Jonathan Bailey) and team leader Duncan (Mahershala Ali) on a top-secret mission to Ile Saint-Hubert for retrieving biomaterial samples from the largest remaining prehistoric specimens. These samples will be used to make a medical drug capable of preventing coronary heart disease in human beings.

The team members first extract a sample from a mosasaurus but before that, they rescue a shipwrecked family consisting of Reuben Delgado (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), his older daughter, Teresa (Luna Blaise), younger daughter, Isabella (Audrina Miranda), and Teresa’s boyfriend, Xavier (David Iacono). Two members of Zora’s team are killed in the sample-extracting adventure. Soon, Reuben Delgado and his three family members are separated from Zora’s team.

Once they reach the island, Zora’s team extracts the second sample from a titanosaurus, and the third and final sample from an egg. But they lose Leclerc (Bechir Sylvain) in this adventure. They now head for the abandoned facility. Zora’s team and the Delgado family re-unite at the abandoned laboratory, but are attacked by a pack of deadly mutated creatures. What happens thereafter? How many are able to escape?

Michael Crichton and David Koepp has written an engaging story and screenplay, with plenty of chills and thrills. The drama begins on a boring note and at a slow pace, but it picks up within minutes. Once that happens, there’s no looking back. Having said that, it must be added that the script follows a set pattern and hence sometimes appears to have been written in a template format. Nevertheless, some sequences are just too remarkable. The sequence of the two dinosaurs making love is mind-blowing. The entire sequence of the team members climbing down with ropes tied around their bodies is breathtaking and sends shivers down the viewers’ spines. The sequences of Teresa Delgado’s bravery in getting an emergency kit from right where the mammoth creature is, and the escape of the Delgado family thereafter is so frightening that it brings the audience to the edge of their seats. There are many other similar nerve-wracking sequences.

Scarlett Johansson is fantastic as Zora Bennett. Jonathan Bailey is terrific in the role of Dr. Henry Loomis. Mahershala Ali is supremely endearing as Duncan. Rupert Friend makes his mark as Martin Krebs. Audrina Miranda shines as Isabella Delgado. Luna Blaise is natural as Teresa Delgado. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo has his moments as Reuben Delgado. David Iacono is entertaining in the role of Xavier. Bechir Sylvain (as Zora’s team member Leclerc), Ed Skrein (as Zora’s team member Atwater) and Philippine Velge (as Zora’s team member Nina) lend brilliant support. Others are adequate.

Gareth Edwards’ direction is praiseworthy. He has made a super-engaging film. Alexandre Desplat’s background music is extraordinary. John Mathieson’s cinematography deserves full marks. James Clyne’s production designing is phenomenal. Jabez Olssen’s editing is razor-sharp. Dubbing is excellent.

On the whole, Jurassic World: Rebirth is a box-office winner. It has the potential to become a hit.
