All patrons of Inox multiplex in PVS Mall in Meerut and shoppers in the mall had a miraculous escape last night (April 14) when a fire broke out in the mall’s basement around 9.30 p.m. The power was switched off and the lifts became inoperative. Patrons and shoppers clamoured to run out of the mall as soon as the mall and Inox staff announced that there was a fire in the building. While several people were injured in the mad rush, there was luckily no death reported. Fire tenders reached the spot after almost half an hour.
All the three screens of Inox were packed to capacity for the screening of K.G.F. Chapter 2 (dubbed). The patrons created a scene for claiming refund of their ticket money as the shows in all the three auditoria had to be cancelled.
