‘KAANOON MERE HAATH MEIN HAI’ REVIEW | 28 June, 2024

Released last week in Bombay, Sri Siddi Vinayaka Movie Makers’ Kaanoon Mere Haath Mein Hai (dubbed from Telugu film Anthima Theerpu; UA) is the story of a woman whose two daughters are kidnapped from their home. The lady knocks the doors of the police station and even the court. She is helped in her search by media man Surya and DCP Bose. As the drama unfolds, several secrets come to the fore.

Murali Ramesh has written a story and screenplay, which don’t engage the audience. The drama is quite routine, and the excitement level is mediocre. Dialogues are dull.

Sai Dhansika does a fine job as Durga whose daughters get kidnapped. Sathya Prakash is very good as the investigating police officer. Ganesh Venkat Raman is fair. Vimala Raman makes her mark. Amit Tiwari is good. Naga Mahesh has his moments. The actresses playing the two kidnapped girls are okay.

A. Abhiramu’s direction is routine. Koti’s music is just about passable. Eshwar Penti’s choreography is so-so. The background music is fairly impactful. N. Sudhakar Reddy’s cinematography is alright. Dragon Prakash-Devaraj’s action and stunt scenes hardly afford thrill. Venkat’s art direction is average. Garry B.H.’s editing is loose. Dubbing is okay.

On the whole, Kaanoon Mere Haath Mein Hai is a poor fare.
