Kannada film actors Duniya Vijay and Sadhu Kokila were on 10th January charged for COVID norms violation along with Congress politicians as they were present at the inauguration on 9th of the Congress party’s 10-day padayatra on the Mekedatu reservoir project. The action came in the wake of criticism of the state government for not preventing the political event at Mekedatu.
