KANNADA FILM ACTRESS JAYASHREE RAMAIAH COMMITS SUICIDE | 26 January, 2021

Kannada film actress Jayashree Ramaiah committed suicide in Bangalore on the night of January 24. She was battling depression and had attempted suicide in July last year too. She was staying in an ashram while undergoing treatment for depression. When phone calls made by her friends went unanswered on 25th morning, the friends alerted the ashram authorities who then found her hanging from the ceiling fan in her room. The police was alerted. According to the police, Jayashree had committed suicide the previous night.

Jayashree Ramaiah had participated in the third season of Bigg Boss Kannada and had acted in Kannada films Uppu Huli Khara and Kannad Gothilla. Kannada films’ superstar Kichcha Sudeep had intervened and talked Jayashree out of her attempted suicide which she had announced on social media. She had even thanked him on social media then for saving her life. But depression seems to have struck once again because Jayashree was reportedly not getting any work. She hung herself from the ceiling fan on 24th night and ended her life.
