Kartik Films Entertainment’s Khalga (Marathi; UA) is the story of a poor man who dreams of becoming a police officer. However, a major tragedy threatens to derail his dreams and aspirations. Does he emerge triumphant?
Shivaji Doltade and Govardhan Doltade have penned a routine story and a lacklustre screenplay. The drama lacks novelty and, therefore, turns out to be devoid of excitement of any sort. The duo’s dialogues are average.
Kartik Doltade does not look like a hero. His acting (as Lakshya) is so-so. Pritam Bhandare is average. Shivaji Doltade lends routine support. Madhavi Juvekar is okay. Sultan Shikalkar is so-so. Seema Vyawahre’s acting is nothing to shout about. Roshani Kadam, Prajwal Bhosale and Kalyani Pawar lend ordinary support.
Shivaji Doltade’s direction is dull. Sachin Awaghade’s music is average. Lyrics (by Govardhan Doltade, Sunil Sakat and Waman Gholap) are okay. P. Shankaram’s background music could’ve been better. Camerawork (Vikas Singh) is so-so. Siraj Patel’s art direction hardly deserves separate mention. Editing (Shivganesh Bhalekar) is loose.
On the whole, Khalga is a flop show.
Released on 13-10-’23 at Gem (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru August Entertainment. Publicity & opening: dull.
