Music maestro Khayyam breathed his last yesterday evening (19th August). He was 93. He had been hospitalised last month but never recovered. In fact, his condition only deteriorated over the last 23 days. His wife had also been hospitalised soon after him but she recovered in a few days and was discharged.
Among the films he had scored music for were Noorie, Kabhi Kabhie, Umrao Jaan, Thodisi Bewafai, Bazaar and Razia Sultan.
