‘SHAITAAN’ SCORES VERY WELL IN 1ST WEEK

Shaitaan did very well in the first week. It started its run with a net collection of Rs. 15.21 crore on Friday. Collections jumped to Rs. 19.18 crore on Saturday. The increase on Sunday was not as big as the day closed at Rs. 20.74 crore. After a very impressive first weekend total of Rs. 55.13 crore, collections for the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 7.81 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 6.57 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 6.27 crore, Thursday – Rs. 5.82 crore. Therefore, the total for the weekdays was Rs. 26.47 crore. In this way, the total for the first week was Rs. 81.60 crore.

Tera Kya Hoga Lovely bombed in 1st week.

Alpha Beta Gamma proved to be a disaster in the first week.

Laapataa Ladies did fair business in 2nd week. It fell around 33% as compared to the first week. It added Rs. 2.85 crore to its kitty in the second weekend, and another Rs. 1.35 crore during the weekdays. Hence the total for 2nd week was Rs. 4.20 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 10.39 crore.

Dune: Part Two (dubbed and the original English versions) continued to do well in the second week also. It dropped about 55% as compared to the first week. It started its second weekend with a take of Rs. 1.08 crore on Friday. Collections increased to Rs. 1.78 crore on Saturday, and further to Rs. 1.82 crore on Sunday. After a second weekend total of Rs. 4.68 crore, collections for the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 0.51 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 0.49 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.53 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.54 crore. In this way, the total for the weekdays was Rs. 2.07 crore. Therefore, the total for 2nd week was Rs. 6.75 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 21.28 crore.

Article 370 did well in 3rd week too, especially during the weekend. The film netted Rs. 7 crore in the third weekend, and another Rs. 3.85 crore during the weekdays. Hence the total for 3rd week was Rs. 10.85 crore. Grand total for 3 weeks: Rs. 67.95 crore.

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya is on its way out. It netted Rs. 2.50 crore in its fifth week. Grand total for 5 weeks: Rs. 80.85 crore.

Amaltash (Marathi) did not do well in the first week in Maharashtra.

Kanni (Marathi) did poor in 1st week all over Maharashtra.

Terav (Marathi) proved to be a debacle in the first week all over Maharashtra.

Bhagirathi Missing (Marathi) failed to attract the public to the cinemas in 1st week in Maharashtra.
