‘ARTICLE 370’ OPENS TO GOOD RESPONSE

ARTICLE 370 opened to a good public response yesterday (23rd February), also aided by the flat ticket pricing of Rs. 99 in most of the multiplexes in celebration of Cinema Lovers Day. The first day closed at Rs. 5 crore. The other major release, the far more costly CRAKK, opened to fair houses. Its first day closed at Rs. 4 crore.

Kuch Khatta Ho Jaay bombed all over in 1st week.

Aakhir Palaayan Kab Tak…? failed miserably in the first week all over.

Dashmi proved to be a disaster in the first week all over.

Khudai met with a miserable fate at the ticket windows in 1st week all over.

Jagatguru Shree Ramakrishna failed to garner support or collections in 1st week in Bihar circuit.

Madame Web (dubbed and the original English version) fared poorly in 1st week all over.

Shaitaan Ki Waapsi (dubbed and the original English version titled Voodoo Is Back) fared very poorly in the first week all over.

Teri Baaton Mein Aisa Uljha Jiya continued to benefit from the buy-one-ticket-get-one-free scheme. It started its second weekend with a take of Rs. 3 crore on Friday. Collections on Saturday increased to Rs. 5 crore, and further to Rs. 6 crore on Sunday. Therefore, the total for the second weekend was Rs. 14 crore. Collections for the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 2.15 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1.85 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 1.70 crore, Thursday – Rs. 1.55 crore. With the total for the weekdays being Rs. 7.25 crore, the second week closed at Rs. 21.25 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 62.45 crore.

Fighter began its fourth weekend with a net collection of Rs. 0.80 crore on Friday. Collections on Saturday and Sunday totalled Rs. 1.65 crore and Rs. 2.15 crore respectively, taking the fourth weekend’s total to Rs. 4.60 crore. Collections on the weekdays were as follows: Monday – Rs. 0.70 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 0.60 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.60 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.55 crore. Hence the total for the weekdays was Rs. 2.45 crore. In this way, the total for 4th week was Rs. 7.05 crore. Grand total for 4 weeks: Rs. 188.55 crore.

HanuMan (dubbed) netted Rs. 0.82 crore in its sixth week. Grand total for 6 weeks: Rs. 52.22 crore.

Shivrayancha Chhava (Marathi) did fair business in 1st week all over Maharashtra.

Locha Copycha (Marathi) fared badly in the first week in Maharashtra.
