DULL COLLECTIONS MARK YEAREND, START OF NEW YEAR

Dunki faced a steep fall (almost 80%) in 2nd week but still managed to touch the Rs. 200-crore mark. The second weekend started with a take of Rs. 6 crore on Friday. Collections increased to Rs. 7.50 crore on Saturday, and to Rs. 10 crore on Sunday. The second weekend, therefore, closed at only Rs. 23.50 crore. In spite of the New Year holiday on Monday, the film collected just Rs. 7.50 crore that day. Collections for the balance days were quite dismal: Tuesday – Rs. 3 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 2.50 crore, Thursday – Rs. 2 crore. With a total of Rs. 15 crore for the 4 weekdays, the second week’s total was an unimpressive Rs. 38.50 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 200.51 crore.

Salaar (dubbed) dropped around 58% in 2nd week. The second weekend commenced with a take of Rs. 7 crore on Friday. Collections increased to Rs. 8.25 crore on Saturday. The total for Sunday was Rs. 10.25 crore. After a weekend total of Rs. 25.50 crore, collections for the weekdays were as follows: Monday (New Year holiday) – Rs. 9.25 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 4.75 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 4.50 crore, Thursday – Rs. 4 crore. Hence the total for the weekdays was Rs. 22.50 crore. In this way, the second week closed at Rs. 48 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 147.50 crore.

Aquaman And The Lost Kingdom (dubbed and the original English versions) did fairly well in 2nd week. It netted Rs. 0.74 crore on the first day of the second weekend. Collections jumped to Rs. 1.10 crore on Saturday, and further to Rs. 1.23 crore on Sunday. After a 2nd weekend total of Rs. 3.07 crore, collections for the weekdays were: Monday (New Year holiday) – Rs. 1.17 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 0.40 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.34 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.29 crore. Therefore, the total for the weekdays was Rs. 2.20 crore. Total for 2nd week: Rs. 5.27 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 19.68 crore.

Animal collected Rs. 4.25 crore in the fifth weekend, and another Rs. 3.25 crore during the weekdays (including the New Year holiday). Of this, the Hindi version collected Rs. 4 crore during the weekend, and Rs. 3 crore during the weekdays. Hence the total of the Hindi version for 5th week was Rs. 7 crore while the total of the dubbed versions for 5th week was Rs. 0.50 crore. Grand total for 5 weeks: Rs. 550.41 crore (Hindi Rs. 489.72 crore, dubbed Rs. 60.69 crore).

Sam Bahadur added Rs. 4.75 crore to its kitty in 5th week. Grand total for 5 weeks: Rs. 89.70 crore.
