‘ANIMAL’ MAKES A KILLING!

Animal killed it at the box-office in the first week. It recorded outstanding collections in the weekend and was unstoppable during the weekdays too. The film netted Rs. 63 crore on the first day, which was the highest ever non-holiday initial for a Hindi film. Of this, the Hindi version netted Rs. 53.90 crore while the dubbed Telugu and Tamil versions collected Rs. 9.10 crore. Saturday saw a spike in collections so that the day closed at Rs. 67.80 crore (Hindi Rs. 58.80 crore, dubbed versions Rs. 9 crore). The total for Sunday was an unbelievable Rs. 72 crore (Hindi Rs. 62.50 crore, dubbed versions Rs. 9.50 crore). After a weekend total of Rs. 202.80 crore (Hindi Rs. 175.20 crore, dubbed Rs. 27.60 crore), collections for the weekdays were as follows: Monday – Rs. 42.60 crore (Hindi Rs. 38.10 crore, dubbed Rs. 4.50 crore), Tuesday – Rs. 37.60 crore (Hindi Rs. 33.60 crore, dubbed Rs. 4 crore), Wednesday – Rs. 29.80 crore (Hindi Rs. 26.80 crore, dubbed Rs. 3 crore), Thursday – Rs. 25.80 crore (Hindi Rs. 22.80 crore, dubbed Rs. 3 crore). Therefore, the total for the weekdays was Rs. 135.80 crore (Hindi Rs. 121.30 crore, dubbed Rs. 14.50 crore). In this way, the first week closed at Rs. 338.60 crore (Hindi Rs. 296.50 crore, dubbed Rs. 42.10 crore). The film rocked Overseas too.

Sam Bahadur did well in the first week on the strength of class audience and city business. It collected Rs. 5.75 crore on the first day. Collections increased to Rs. 8.75 crore on Saturday, and further to Rs. 9.50 crore on Sunday. Hence the first weekend closed at Rs. 24 crore. Collections for the weekdays were steady at medium level: Monday – Rs. 3.50 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 3.35 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 3 crore, Thursday – Rs. 2.90 crore. In this way, the total for the weekdays was Rs. 12.75 crore. So the first week closed at Rs. 36.75 crore.

Tiger 3 added Rs. 2.22 crore to its kitty in 4th week. Of this, the Hindi version netted Rs. 2.20 crore while the dubbed versions collected Rs. 0.02 crore. Hence the grand total for 4 weeks was Rs. 284.50 crore (Hindi Rs. 277.76 crore, dubbed Rs. 6.74 crore).

12th Fail netted Rs. 2 crore in 6th week. Grand total for 6 weeks: Rs. 49.78 crore.

Jhimma 2 (Marathi) continued to do well in 2nd week too, all over Maharashtra.
