Tag Productions’ Leech is a suspense thriller. Sadia (Sanam Zeeya) is a film actress who is married to Fredrick (Abhik Benazir), a film writer. They have an 8-year-old son, Erik (Hrithik Lamba). They sometimes spend time at their holiday home. A strange thing about Fredrick’s stories are that they come true after he has written them.
Fredrick and Sadia realise that their holiday home caretaker, Kalpesh (Amit Srivastava), and their maid, Anita (Radhika), have been murdered under mysterious circumstances. Soon, their new caretaker, Javed (Sanju Dhirhe), and their own son, Erik, go missing. While Fredrick seems to be least affected by the fact that two persons, including his own son, have disappeared, Sadia is distraught. She asks her investigation officer-friend, Newton (Ved Prakash), to help locate Erik. During the investigations, some horrifying details come to the fore. What are they?
Abhik Benazir’s story seems incomplete and is also written in a slipshod manner. The screenplay, penned by Abhik Benazir, Vishal Singh and Anil Ramchandra Sharma, is so disjointed that one wonders how the trio could’ve written such a pathetic drama. Even the trio’s dialogues are dull.
Abhik Benazir performs quite ably as Fredrick. Sanam Zeeya does well as Sadia. Vishal Singh (as Hamilton) and Ved Prakash (as Newton) lend average support. Hrithik Lamba is so-so as Erik. Sanju Dhirhe provides routine support as caretaker Javed. Amit Srivastava (as Kalpesh) and Radhika (as Anita) get almost no scope. Alka Amin (as Dr. Nilima), Atul Srivastava (as the professor) and the others are adequate.
Anil Ramchandra Sharma and Pabitra Das’ direction is dull. Bapi Bhattacharya’s background music is alright. Camerawork (by Ashok Panda) is ordinary. Mukul Mayank’s art direction is nothing to shout about. Anil Ramchandra Sharma’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.
On the whole, Leech is a disastrous show.
