LIFER WHO SHOT RAKESH ROSHAN NABBED AFTER JUMPING PAROLE | 11 October, 2020

A man charged with 11 murders and seven attempts to murder including an attempt to murder Rakesh Roshan in 2000, was arrested in Kalwa on 9th October by the Thane city police. Criminal and sharpshooter Sunil Gaikwad had jumped parole in June this year.

Gaikwad had been sentenced to life imprisonment and was lodged at Nashik Central Jail. He left on a 28-day parole on June 26. However, he went into hiding and did not return on completion of his parole period. Based on a tip-off, the police laid a trap and arrested him around 9 p.m. near the Kalwa circle in Thane. He was handed over to the Pant Nagar police where an offence of his escape had been registered.
