LOVE SHOTS | 18 October, 2019

Madjag Films’ Love Shots (A) is the story of a girl who craves for sex with every man she sees.

Anvita (Anvita Rai) is a sex-crazy girl. However, when she gets married to Girvan (Ravneet Singh), she refuses to let him have sex with her. After two months, she announces that she is pregnant. Obviously, this leads to fights between Girvan and Anvita. Finally, Girvan asks her to abort the child as it is not his. But Anvita refuses to abort the child. What happens thereafter? Do Anvita and Girvan reconcile their differences? Or do they go their separate ways?

Prithviraj Oberoi’s story and screenplay are pathetic and pretend to be very modern in thought. This, of course, will be detested by the audience because what’s sought to be conveyed is that a woman should have the right to get physical with whomever she wants and also the right to get pregnant by having sex with whomever she desires. Except for sex, the film has nothing to offer — neither comedy nor romance nor even emotions. Even the sex scenes are not of the kind which can work their magic on the viewers. What’s more, the sexual content drastically reduces after interval. Therefore, the second half is pure and unadulterated boredom. Prithviraj Oberoi’s dialogues are below the mark.

Anvita Rai does fairly well as Anvita. Ravneet Singh is good as Girvan. Sudha Chandran and Rajesh Puri lend decent support as Girvan’s parents. Shashank Sharma, Rohan Anand, Reyna Vashishtha, Monika Ably and Pushpa Verma provide ordinary support.

Prithviraj Oberoi’s direction is very weak, just like his script. Music (Samuel Paul and Dev Hazarika) and lyrics (by Prithviraj Oberoi) barely pass muster. Ashwin Chanil’s choreography is so-so. Madhav does an ordinary job as the background music composer. Rajesh Kanojia’s camerawork is commonplace. Tapas Ghosh’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Love Shots will get absolutely no love from the public.
