SD World Film Production Pvt. Ltd.’s Luv You Shankar (UA) is the story of rebirth.
Shivansh (Mann Gandhi) is an eight-year-old who lives in London with his parents. His ramblings while being treated in hospital for an accident convinces the doctor that he had a past life in Varanasi. Shivansh visits Varanasi and reunites with Madhav (Hemant Pandey) who was his close friend in the previous life. He soon learns that he was Rudra (Shreyas Talpade) in his past life and was a devout follower of Lord Shiva. He also learns that Rudra was killed by Siddhu (Abhimanyu Singh) who is now a fraudulent guru named Siddheshwar. Shivansh swears revenge for his murder in the past life. Lord Shiva helps him fulfill his mission.
Rajiv S. Ruia has written a childish story which fails to touch the heart. Why, even the revenge by Shivansh for his murder in the previous life doesn’t excite or thrill the audience. Ravindra Ram Patil and Priyank Mehta have written such a mediocre screenplay that it just doesn’t engage the viewers. Sanjay Masoom’s dialogues are routine.
Shreyas Talpade performs fairly well as Rudra. Tanisha Mukerji is average as Rudra’s wife. Abhimanyu Singh is fair as Siddhu/Siddheshwar. Hemant Pandey makes his presence felt in the role of Madhav. Mann Gandhi is alright as Shivansh. Sanjay Mishra is entertaining in a brief role. Elakshi Gupta and Pratik Jain lend routine support. Others pass muster.
Rajiv S. Ruia’s direction is dull. Animation is below the mark. Vardan Singh’s music is routine. Lyrics (by Anjaan Sagri and Sahil Sultanpuri) are ordinary. Song picturisations (by Ganesh Acharya and Arvind Thakur) are functional. Dharma Vish’s background music is dull. Javed Ahtasham’s camerawork is nothing to shout about. R.P. Yadav’s action and stunt scenes lack thrill. Suresh Pillai’s art direction is okay. Komal Varma’s editing leaves something to be desired.
On the whole, Luv You Shankar will not get the love of the public. Even the target audience — kids — will give the film a thumbs down.
Released on 19-4-’24 at Maxus Andheri (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay by SD World Film Production Pvt. Ltd. Publicity & opening: very poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was terribly weak everywhere.
