Noted lyricist Nasir Faraz breathed his last yesterday (15th January) in Bombay following a heart attack. He was in his sixties. He was cremated today (16th) at the Zohrabad kabrastan at Nala Sopara in Bombay. Nasir had been keeping unwell since long. He had undergone heart surgery some years ago.
Among the films for which Nasir Faraz had penned songs were Kites, Krrish, Kaabil, Bajirao Mastani, etc. Among his well-known and hit songs were Dil kyun yeh mera shor karein (Kites), Zindagi do pal ki (Kites), Kaabil hoon main (Kaabil), Tum mujhe bas yun hee (Aetbaar), Main hoon woh aasmaan (Krrish), Koi tumsa nahin (Krrish), etc.
Lyricist Vijay Akela told Information, “Nasirbhai was a dear friend. I have very fond memories of the noble soul. He was such a fine lyricist. I will miss him forever.”
