Rumours are rife in Bollywood trade circles that Madhur Bhandarkar will be appointed chairman of the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC). Current chairman Prasoon Joshi’s three-year term expired on 10th August, 2020. He had succeeded Pahlaj Nihalani as CBFC chairman from 11th August, 2017. Although his term expired in August this year, Joshi is still continuing as the CBFC chief.
