MADHYA PRADESH PASSES BILL TO BOOK MAKERS OF UNCENSORED WEB SERIES | 28 February, 2021

The Madhya Pradesh assembly on 26th February unanimously passed a private member resolution to give the right to the state government to book producers and directors of web series which are aired without censor clearance.

BJP MLA Yashpal Singh Sisodia raised the issue, saying that the violence and objectionable and abusive language shown on web series was affecting the minds of the younger generation. M.P. home minister Narottam Mishra said that such web series were an attack on our culture and civilisation. They were an attack on Hindu religion, he added. Congress MLAs neither supported nor objected to the issue.
