MALAYALAM FILM WRITER-DIRECTOR DENNIS JOSEPH DIES OF CARDIAC ARREST | 11 May, 2021

Noted Malayalam film writer-director Dennis Joseph passed away yesterday (10th May) of cardiac arrest at a hospital in Kottayam. He was 64. He is survived by his wife and three children.

Dennis became a name to reckon with in the Malayalam film industry in late 1980s and early 1990s with his screenplays in hit films like Nirakkoottu, Rajavinte Makan, Shyama, New Delhi, No. 20 Madras Mail, Kottayam Kunjachan, Akashadoothu, Palayam and FIR. He also directed five films, of which Mammootty-starrer Manu Uncle won the National Award for the best children’s film.
