The inebriated pedestrian, who was injured in a road accident involving actor Rajat Bedi’s car, died during treatment late on 7th September, the police said. Following his death, the D.N. Nagar (Bombay) police station has added section 304-A (causing death by negligence) of the Indian Penal Code in the FIR registered against Rajat.
The accident occurred on the evening of 6th September at Andheri in Bombay. The pedestrian suddenly came in the middle of the road and got hit by the actor’s car before the latter could apply brakes. Rajat took the victim to Cooper Hospital and then went to the D.N. Nagar police station to narrate the incident. A case was registered against the actor under IPC sections 279 (rash driving) and 338 (causing grievous hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others).
