Thirty-two-year-old Marathi TV actress Kalyani Kurale-Jadhav was mowed down by a tractor at Hallondi near Sangli Phata on the Pune-Bangalore National Highway on the night of 11th November. A resident of the Rajarampuri area of Kolhapur, she had acted in Marathi television serials.
Barely ten days before her end, she had started an eatery at Hallondi, under the name and style of Premachi Bhakar (Bread Of Love). It was her dream project. According to the police, she had left on her two-wheeler with one of her co-workers at 11 p.m. on the fateful night. She dropped the pillion rider along the highway at Hallondi and left for Kolhapur. A few minutes later, a tractor hit her vehicle from behind, following which she fell down. She then came under the rear wheels of the tractor. The tractor driver was taken into custody.
