A major fire broke out at Indore’s shutdown Regal Cinema yesterday (7th August). Four fire tenders had to be rushed to the spot to bring the fire under control. The exact cause of the fire is not known. It is said to have started from an upper floor.
Regal Cinema is situated on a busy junction. Since the fire was a major one, a lot of black smog spread in the vicinity. The cinema has been closed for quite some time now as the Indore Municipal Corporation had acquired it for construction of a bridge there.
Since the cinema was closed and all parts were locked, it was very difficult for the firemen to enter inside to control the flames. As they struggled to enter the cinema, the fire kept spreading. Finally, a wall had to be broken so that the fire personnel could enter the cinema. The fire had been brought under control by late night.
