Karan C. Productions and Sree Venkateswara Cinemas’ Michael (dubbed from the Tamil-Telugu film of the same name; UA) is an action drama.
Michael (Sundeep Kishan) joins a gangster as it has been his childhood dream to be part of an underworld gang. He falls in love with Theera (Divyansha Kaushik) but his life doesn’t remain the same after that. While he makes great progress at his work place, his personal life undergoes a sea change.
Ranjit Jeyakodi has written a routine story which has been seen umpteen times on the screen. His screenplay is hackneyed and predictable. There’s absolutely no freshness or novelty in the drama. Even the dialogues are routine.
Sundeep Kishan is average in the title role. Divyansha Kaushik does a fair job as Theera. Vijay Sethupathi is reasonably good. Gautham Vasudev Menon lends decent support. Varun Sandesh, Ayyappa P. Sharma, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar and Ravi Varma are adequate.
Ranjit Jeyakodi’s direction is routine. Sam C.S.’s music doesn’t add much to the film. Even the lyrics are ordinary. Sathish’s choreography is quite eye-filling. Kiran Koushik’s camerawork is fairly nice. Dinesh Kasi’s stunts and action scenes are okay. R. Sathyanarayanan’s editing could’ve been sharper. Dubbing is alright.
On the whole, Michael is a flop show.
