‘MIRG’ REVIEW | 9 February, 2024

Studio RA, Na Ma Productions and One Shot Films’ Mirg (UA) is the story of an oppressed man, Anil. One incident changes his outlook and perspective of everything around him.

Tarun Sharma has written a story and screenplay, which are so class-appealing that the majority among the audience will not be able to appreciate them. What’s more, the drama fails to connect with the viewers. Rather, it bores the audience. Tarun Sharma’s dialogues are dull.

Satish Kaushik acts very well as Ravi. Shwetaabh Singh makes his mark in the role of Anil. Anup Soni is impressive as Bulldozer Bhai. Raj Babbar  has his moments in a special appearance. Others do as desired. Kumar Karan Singh is passable as the ATM guard. Raghav Raj Kakker (as Shanky), Vipal Thakur and Kamaljeet (both as bodyguards), Yugen (as Tuffy), Ved Prakash Singh (as Monda), Ashar Haque (as Dheeraj), Fateh Singh Boti (as Fateh uncle), Gaurav Sharma (as Sonu), Vimla Rathore (as Sunita Devi), Siddharth Chopra (as Ayush), Karan Sharma (as Golu), and the others fill the bill.

Tarun Sharma’s direction caters only to a thin section of the audience. Anshul Takkar’s music is nothing to shout about. Rahul Deep and Mayank Khurana’s cinematography is quite good. Satyandra Tyagi’s action and stunt scenes are functional. Vaibhavi Koushik and Arusha’s art direction is basic. Sriram Raja’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Mirg is more like a festival film and will, therefore, not be able to make any mark whatsoever at the box-office.

Released on 9-2-’24 at Metro Inox (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay thru Platoon One Distribution. Publicity & opening: Poor. …….Also released all over. Opening was very dull everywhere.
