‘MURDERBAAD’ REVIEW | 18 July, 2025

Reliance Entertainment and Acjee Entertainment’s Murderbaad (A) is a crime drama. A Jaipur tour guide’s romance with an NRI unravels when a fellow-tourist goes missing. Is the fellow-tourist dead? Was she killed? Was it a case of rape and murder? If it was a murder, who is the killer?

Arnab Chatterjee has written an interesting and intriguing story and screenplay, which keep the viewers hooked, at least for quite some time. But the crime drama loses steam as it progresses. Arnab Chatterjee’s dialogues are ordinary.

Nakul Roshan Sahdev does fairly well as the tourist guide. Kanikka Kapur is quite good. Sharib Hashmi makes his presence felt. Manish Chaudhari performs ably. Saloni Batra does a decent job. Ravina Sharma is alright. Amole Gupte has his moments. Anjan Srivastava is very natural. Masood Akhtar leaves a mark. Subrat Dutta lends fine support. Barun Chanda gives a good account of himself. Kamaleshwar Mukherjee is adequate. Vibha Chibber is effective. Uday Tikekar lends good support.

Arnab Chatterjee’s direction is quite impactful. Rickie’s music and background music are okay. Kuku Prabhas’ lyrics are in synch with the mood of the film. Shonet Anthony Baretto’s choreography is appropriate. Binod Pradhan’s cinematography is lovely. Sham Kaushal’s action and stunt scenes afford thrill. Tapan Seth’s production designing is okay. Dev Rao Jadhav’s editing is sharp.

On the whole, Murderbaad is a decent crime thriller but lack of awareness about its release will tell on its business. It will, therefore, go largely unnoticed at the ticket windows.

Released on 18-7-’25 at Metro Inox (daily 1 show) and other cinemas of Bombay by Reliance Entertainment. Publicity & opening: terribly weak. …….Also released all over. Opening was poor everywhere.
