‘NAACH BASANTI NAACH’ REVIEW | 21 June, 2024

Released last week in Delhi-U.P., Radium Pictures’ Naach Basanti Naach (UA) is the story of a dancer.

Shweta (Riya Kapoor) falls in love with “launda dancer” Basant (Dilip Arya). She is unaware of Basant’s sari-clad version. But there’s already someone competing with Shweta for Basant’s affection.

A weak story (by Dinesh Deep and Viren Yuvraj) and an equally dull screenplay (Mukesh Kumar) make the drama quite unpalatable. But some light scenes are fairly good.

Performances of Dilip Arya and Riya Kapoor are ordinary.

Dilip Arya’s direction is weak. Music (Asit Tripathi), which should’ve been a major asset, is below the mark. Lyrics (Ashish Prakash and Dinesh Deep) pass muster. Anuradha Singh’s editing is loose. All other aspects are too ordinary to be true.

On the whole, Naach Basanti Naach is a flop fare.
