Actor Nagarjuna on October 3 filed a defamation case against Telangana forest minister Konda Surekha in a Hyderabad court, a day after she allegedly made a defamatory statement about him and his family, linking Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) MLA and party president K.T. Rama Rao with the divorce of his actor-son, Naga Chaitanya, and actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, while interacting with the media.
Konda Suresh had earlier the same day apologised to Samantha and had withdrawn her statement, saying that her intention was to only highlight how BRS president K.T. Rama Rao belittled women. The minister posted on X, “I respect women like you who have achieved success through hard work. If you or your fans are upset about my remarks, I am withdrawing them. Please do not think otherwise.”
